About This Event
The PRS 2025 was hosted by the African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Data Intensive Sciences (ACE-Uganda) at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) of Makerere University in Kampala. This intensive five-day training gathered over 40 early-career scientists, geneticists, and bioinformaticians from all over Africa. The curriculum emphasized practical skills in bioinformatics, genetic epidemiology, population genetics, and statistical genetics. Participants directly dissected ancestry-specific GWAS, LD patterns, and allele frequency divergences to help bridge the PRS portability gap across diverse African populations.
