Edith Nabukenya

Edith Nabukenya is an aspiring bioinformatician and currently an MSc student at the African Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Data-Intensive Sciences (ACE), Makerere University. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology from Makerere University. Her interests lie at the intersection of structural biology, genomics, artificial intelligence, and infectious disease research. To support these interests, over time Edith has gained high proficience in deploying R, Python, Linux and high-performance computing (HPC) to process and analyze large-scale genomic datasets. Edith is currently involved in research exploring Plasmodium falciparum genomics, genetic variation, and antimalarial drug resistance, with a growing focus on applying AI-driven tools to address complex biological questions. Her work is driven by a passion for transforming genomic and computational data into insights that can improve public health outcomes.
