Patricia Nabisubi

Patricia Nabisubi Agasi is a Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Data-Intensive Sciences (ACE), Makerere University College of Health Sciences, where she coordinates the Mathematical Modelling and AMR Working Group. Her research interests cut across antimicrobial resistance, One Health surveillance, and the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases, with a particular passion for mathematical and Bayesian modelling as tools for understanding how resistance emerges and spreads across human, animal, and environmental interfaces in Uganda. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Makerere University College of Health Sciences. She earned her MSc in Bioinformatics as an EANBiT/Forgat Fellow, with research on SARS-CoV-2 spread dynamics in East Africa, and holds a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Technology from Makerere University, where her undergraduate research investigated the toxicological effects of systemic Interleukin-6 administration in animal models. Her work has appeared in Nature, Briefings in Bioinformatics, and other peer-reviewed journals, accumulating over 300 citations. Previously, Patricia completed a Mathematical Modelling placement at the Data Science for Social Good programme, University of San Francisco, and a research placement at the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP).
