Biography

Dr. Kintu is a Physician-Researcher at the African Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics, Makerere University, in Kampala, Uganda. His research sits at the intersection of digital health, implementation science, and HIV prevention and care for adolescents and young people in sub-Saharan Africa, with particular interest in harnessing data science to develop context-appropriate clinical tools for low-resource settings. He is developing a conversational AI tool to augment peer support among adolescents and young people living with HIV. Long-term, he aspires to lead a clinical research translation program in East Africa and pursue subspecialty training in Infectious Disease with a focus on global health, alongside continued passions for mentorship, health equity advocacy, and entrepreneurship.
